(Unplugged Dance Festival workshops overview)

29.8.22 - 3.9.22 by Ainara Makalilo

The distance between my body and my shadow, becoming a body for the first time, transforming into exquisite corpses, improvising in improbable spaces… Gravity and lightness, memory, the invisible and the unpredictable: Let ourselves deform daily patterns. This workshop is a non conventional open laboratory of research, madness and creation aimed at exploring new ways of moving, the relation to elements and states we go through, and a opportunity to get in touch to everything that surround us differently, exploring the intersections of bodies and their environments. We will experience different ways of walking, of guiding and being guided, ways to perceive the visible and the invisible, the souvenirs, the wandering to establish new personal cartographies of our body in space. We will dance different landscapes and create rituals for improbable spaces. Based on the experience with DaDá collectives L’atelier D and La Sangria Discreta, and the Moonwalk project (an itinerant dance lab during a moon cycle), this workshop is aimed at abandoning conventions, letting go and exploring the unknown, the unpredictable, through exercises that will be developed in the studio and outside. The exercises proposed are inspired by Butō dance, improvisation, authentic movement, bodyweather techniques, DaDÁ, ritual, as well as by the desire to write and share personal narratives outside of daily routines. This workshop is open to all, experienced or beginners, whatever your experience, morphology, age, gender is. Motivation is strongly required.
