Sur l'improvisation
Le point de départ de cet atelier de Body Weather consiste en une formation complète et une pratique performative qui explore les intersections entre les corps et leur environnement. Les corps ne sont pas considérés comme des entités fixes, mais plutôt à l’image de la météorologie et du temps, en constante évolution à travers un système complexe et infini de processus qui se produisent à l'intérieur et à l'extérieur de ces corps.
La Météorologie du Corps a été fondée par le danseur Min Tanaka et développée initialement au Japon au sein de sa compagnie Maijuku, dont Frank van de Ven a été membre de 1983 à 1992. En 1993 Frank van de Ven fonde avec Katerina Bakatsaki Body Weather Amsterdam, centre d’entraînement et de recherche chorégraphique. Depuis 1995 il conduit avec Milos Sejn (Académie Art and Design de Prague) le projet interdisciplinaire Bohemia Rosa, rencontre entre corps et paysage et l’art, la géologie et l’architecture.
Les matins on commencera par des entrainements assez intensifs, la recherche avec un partenaire, des exercices sur la respiration, des étirements, l'alignement et la notion de «relaxation» pour ensuite plonger dans les particularités de l'improvisation dans la danse et le mouvement. Nous allons explorer les états physiques et mentaux de l'être et de la création du mouvement, improviser sur des partitions inexistantes, inspecter les modeles habituels qu'on suivre et nous engager dans des jeux oulipiens.

Participants : Ce stage n’est pas réservé seulement aux danseurs, qui désirent développer une précision de leurs techniques et une richesse de mouvements, mais s’adresse aussi aux personnes simplement intéressées par l’exploration du corps et de la présence. Une expérience en danse et des compétences techniques ne sont pas nécessaires, mais ce travail sera physiquement intensif.

Body Weather is a comprehensive approach to training and performance that investigates the intersections of bodies and their environments. Bodies are conceived not as fixed and separate entities but as constantly changing - just like the weather. Weather is seen as a complex system of forces and influences coursing through and beyond bodies and the world.
The term & philosophical basis for Body Weather was founded in the early 1980's by dancer Min Tanaka and further developed by Laboratories worldwide. Frank van de Ven was a member of Tanaka’s Maijuku Performance Company in Japan, from 1983-1992. With Katerina Bakatsaki he leads Body Weather Amsterdam, a platform for training and performance. Since 1995 he conducts the annual, interdisciplinary Bohemiae Rosa Project with Milos Sejn (Academy Of Art and Design, Prague, Czech Republic), connecting body and landscape with art, geology and architecture.

After a thorough training and work with a partner on breathing, stretching, alignment and the notion of ‘relaxation’ in the morning, we will delve into the particulars of improvisation in dance and movement. We’ll explore both physical and mental states of being and creating movement, improvise on non-existing scores, inspect prevalent habits and patterns and engage in Oulipian games.
Body Weather is of relevance to anyone interested in exploring the body and physical presence and this workshop is suited to dance, theatre and movement practitioners and artists of various backgrounds.
