THE MOONWALK WILD LAB WORKSHOP 1

Come and join the wild lab Workshop. Pyrenees. August 20-28th, 2018

The Moonwalk Wild Lab workshop Dance workshop and hiking in wild nature.

This workshop is inspired by the collective adventure Moonwalk (itinerant artistic laboratory in nature during one moon cycle) and proposes a unique experience of one-week dancing, walking and living in wild nature.

Where: Ariège, Pyrenees

When: From August 20-28th, 2018

Deadline for applications: 18/08/2018 By calling in wild forces and ancient memories in our bodies we will explore the meeting of body and landscape, how nature influences the group work, how to create together a dialogue with the environment and how to find an organic creative process.

We will propose different exercises, explorations, we will create our own rituals and we will improvise in the magnificent Pyrenees mountains in south France.

We will bring everything that we need for the time with us. We pack in our food and share such collective tasks as food preparation, clean-up and camp set-up. We practice low impact camping, paying attention to our physical relationship to the world around us.

Planing: August 20th: Rendezvous in Pic, Montjoie-en-Couserans (next to Saint Girons, Ariège). Meeting and preparation.

From August 21st to 27th in wild nature: -walking, exploring different walks, guided exercises and warmups, dance and improvisations with the landscape, writing, creating masks or costumes with natural elements, sharing, performing, setting the camp, collecting wild plants, cooking on the fire and much more…

August 27th, evening: return to Pic, dinner and open stage with the material we worked on during the week and live music

This workshop is open to all, although a good physical condition is necessary due to the mountainous landscape.

Equipment required : -good shoes -backpack -backpack rain cover -sleeping bag(warm enough) -tent -light mattress -headlamp -warm and light clothes -raincoat -knife -plate -flask for water(min 1,5l) -plastic or cotton bag to collect plants

Facilitators: AINARA LOPEZ Issued from a Fine Arts background, she made her first performative steps in Lecoq movement and gesture techniques and street performance before heading towards dance and linguistics. She has worked with butoh performers Anita Saij, Masaki Iwana, Gyohei Zaitsu, Yuko Kaseki, Rhizome Lee, with bodyweather practitioner Frank van der Ven, and contemporary dancers Imen Smaoui and Martin Sonderkampf. Assistant of butoh teacher Atsushi Takenouchi and co-founder of art multidisciplinary collectives L’Atelier D (Tunisia- Spain-Denmark) and La Sangria Discreta (Switzerland), she has performed in different festivals around Europe, participated in several art residencies in Brazil, Spain, France and Denmark and has been official jury of the TAC (International Street performance festival, Spain).

ANIS OUAZZANI With a mathematician background, he moved into CI dance and butoh and he has collaborated with choreographers such as Steve Batts and Atsushi Takenouchi. He has been choreographer of company Merversibles (Toulouse, FR) and has been giving workshops in different countries of Europe. He is the director of the dance festival DANZàPIC in Ariège (FR) and he is an active part of Swiss art collective La Sangria Discreta.

Cost: 260euros (including food from 20th dinner to 28th breakfast)
